HEXED HUNK

What do you call a hunky wizard who might just hex you? HEXED HUNK! Hexed Hunk is a collaborative game jam project that won first place in theme... and marked the first video game I’ve had the honor of contributing to since starting at ArtCenter.

Hexed Hunk is a group project created for the Spring 2025 Game Jam, where it won 1st place for Best Use of Theme. The game’s protagonist, a fitness-obsessed wizard, emerged from the challenge of combining two distinct elements: magic and muscle. I wanted to create a character that clearly conveyed the key themes of the game through a design that embraced both aspects. This led to the creation of the name, Hexed Hunk — a hunky wizard who might just hex you with both his muscles and his magic.

This was my first experience with game design at ArtCenter, and it gave me the opportunity to blend character design with storytelling and humor. While I enjoyed working on it, I couldn’t have done it without the amazing teamwork and collaboration from my peers. It was a great experience that allowed me to experiment with different artists and strengthen my understanding of character design and storytelling.

This is the first round of concept sketches I created on Ibis Paint X. These early drawings helped guide the overall direction for the main character.
